Following the recent elections on Thursday 2nd May 2013, we are pleased to inform you that the Conservatives have held eight seats in Lancashire County Council, South Ribble Borough Council and Penwortham Town Council.
Malcolm Barron (West Lancashire North), Graham Gooch (South Ribble Rural West), Michael Green (Leyland South West), Keith Iddon (Chorley Rural West) and Mike Otter (Farington) were all successful in what was the first election at county level since 2009.
Disappointingly, Renee Blow (Penwortham South) and Caroline Moon (Leyland Central) both lost their seats while Mike France failed in an attempt to claim the Penwortham North seat.
Meanwhile, Alan Ogilvie (Leyland St Mary’s) was successful in holding his South Ribble Borough Countil seat, although Ange Turner (Howick & Priory) and Paul Wharton (Leyland St Ambrose) failed to hold their seats.
Penwortham Town Council saw both Joan Burrows (Whitefield) and Ange Turner (Howick & Priory) hold their seats.
Congratulations to all our winning candidates and thank you to all candidates for the work they put in throughout the campaign.
For the losing candidates, there will always be another time and we thank you for all the work you have delivered.
The Association would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all our party members who donated their time, effort and skills during this campaign. Equally, we would like to thank the public for their loyal support in choosing Conservative.
